Congratulations to Andrew Hanson for winning Best Teleplay: One-Hour Pilot at the Austin Film Festival

Congrats to Andrew Hanson, whom you might remember from his appearances on The Second Column podcast. Hanson and his writing partner Patrick Day won “Best Teleplay: One-Hour Pilot” at the Austin Film Festival. I’m not surprised. I’ve been watching Hanson write on his feet as a member of the improv group The Great Adventure for years. It was only a matter of time before he wrote down some of the funny things that run through his mind and had some success from it.

I stole this photo from Andrew’s Facebook page. That’s the award, which appears to be some type of miniaturized replica of an ancient writing device coupled with a replica of some type of ancient image-capturing form of cellulose. I have no idea who the hipster lady in the background is.
